King Beeleth, the ruler of Gehenna, is not a stranger to being summoned elsewhere; it's a regular occurrence for demons, especially those of higher ranks due to being sought after by skilled (or confident) summoners. However, one day, a summoning circle's hellish link did not bring him to its intended destination. A catastrophic space-time disturbance sent him to the a region in the Pokemon world's past: Hisui.In a desperate attempt to gain Arceus' attention and harness its power, Volo had sought the aid of Giratina. Unfortunately for Beeleth, this did partially succeed, and their oppressive supernatural presences in the same exact place at the same time made their bodies fuse into one. The demon king retains much of his mind, desires, and body while the Renegade Pokemon's powers remain; occasionally, Giratina will influence Beeleth, but it largely remains in the background.A bewildered, somewhat disappointed (yet highly intrigued) Volo makes a deal with Beeleth: he is to assist him in collecting the legendary plates and gaining Arceus' notice through any means necessary. The demon does not receive anything in exchange, but is offered the enticing possibility of living in a world where he will no longer suffer. The merchant is unaware of Beeleth's history, but such a choice for someone with no attachment to this world nor his own has no poor outcomes. It isn't as if he is able to decline, anyway.Until their new world comes to fruition, however, Beeleth is to live as Giras, a new merchant Volo has recruited to the Ginkgo Guild. The locals do not think too hard about the stranger despite everything about him being unusual. After all, Volo is a little strange, so of course he's found someone equally (if not more) strange to call a friend.However, at the start, the two of them do not consider themselves friends. They both believe that they are in full control of the situation they've landed in, with the full capability to turn on the other if things go awry for whatever reason. However, as time goes on, seeds of doubt are placed in their minds. Volo goes from believing Giras is merely a tool to being a deeply wounded person just like him; Giras goes from seeing Volo as scheming, unpleasant human scum to a person desperately fighting for a chance to thrive, just as he wishes for deep down despite his deep-rooted self-destructive beliefs and behaviors.Their story does not have a set ending as of right now, but it will absolutely end in tragedy.

Even though I genuinely love him very dearly, I don't mind sharing Volo with others, and I'd love to make friends with others who feel strongly about him.Their official ship name is Holyghostshipping, but I almost exclusively refer to it as Vololeth.
